WHAT IS A HOME INSPECTION?  A home inspection is, “An expert opinion as to the condition of the house on the day of inspection”. A professional inspector will probe the wood, not just look with a flash light and, North Carolina has an abundance of termites and sometimes they are not that easy to discover. A professional inspector has the knowledge, experience and the equipment to do a thorough job. RADON TESTING - As an added service, Certified Plus Home Inspections can perform radon test at the clients request. Radon is a cancer causing radioactive gas that comes from the natural radioactive breakdown of uranium in the soil. We recommend every house have a radon test conducted to determine the level of Radon. If the level of Radon is over 4 PCI/L, a radon venting system should be installed for health reasons. HOW MUCH TIME DOES A HOME INSPECTION TAKE? The average home inspection takes between two and three hours. It all depends on the size, condition, age and style of house. If the house is in poor condition, the inspection could take longer. Or, if the house is a very large house in the 15 room range, it may require two inspectors to inspect the house. The reason we use two inspectors on large houses is to facilitate the inspection so it can be completed in a reasonable amount of time.
