Sump Pump - A sump pump's pit is supposed to be
at least two feet deep to assure that the rising ground water will be
pumped to the exterior before it can enter the basement. This pump pit was
only 9 inches deep which allowed water to penetrate the basement floor.
The cost to make the pit deeper was only a few hundred dollars but a very
important repair because it saved the foundation from some very expensive
repairs. |
